Sea Life Helsinki

Sea Life takes you on a voyage from the tropical oceans to the Arctic Sea, stopping at the Baltic Sea along the way. Discover strange and fascinating underwater worlds, home to crabs and starfish as well as sharks and rays. Visitors can step inside the ocean tank through a transparent tunnel. The exhibitions present many species whose environments are threatened by pollution and other environmental damage caused by humans. Helsinki's Sea Life is part of the pan-European Sea Life network, whose aim is to enlighten visitors about the need for protecting the sea environment and the biggest threats, such as pollution and over fishing.
2009: 1.1.-30.4. & 1.9.-31.12. Mon-Tue 10-17, Thu-Sun 10-17, Wed 10-20; 1.5.-21.6. & 1.-31.8. daily 10-19; 22.6.-31.7. daily 10-22. (Last admissions 1h before closing.)
2009: Adults 14,50€, students and pensioners 11€, children (4-14 years) 9,80€, familytickets available.
Sealife Centre Helsinki is located next to the Linnanmäki Amusement Park. Trams 3T/3B from city centre.
Group rates min. 15 persons: adults 11,50€, children 4-14years 8€ (for every 10 children 1 adult free of charge). Pre-booked school and kindergarten groups min. 10 persons 5€/pers. self-conducted tour or 6€ with programme (for every 5 children 1 adult free of charge). Student groups 8,50€/pers (min.15persons). Guided tours with theme 30€/½h or 45€/1h (max. 15 pers.) Classroom rent 60€ + group entrance fee 11,50€/person.

Gift shop, café, parking. Well-equipped classroom and teaching material for school groups, seating for 130. Wide range of interactive and educational experiences. Information about protection of marine environment and of the threats to it.
Disabled persons:
Accessible with wheelchair, some hight differences along the route, an assistant might be needed. Inva-WC (in café premises) and lift.
