Copenhagen Bymuseum

Address: Vesterbrogade 59

The Museum of Copenhagen provides you with the opportunity to explore the fascinating history of the Danish capital. The city was given as a present to Bishop Absalon from King Valdemar the Great around 1160 and has developed ever since.

The Museum of Copenhagen is located in a beautiful old building which was once the domicile of the Royal Shooting Society. The presence of the Shooting Society can still be sensed because of the many painted targets on exhibit. Members of the Shooting Society had targets painted on their admission and many of the motifs are known only through these targets.

How to Get There
The Museum of Copenhagen is centrally located in the part of the city called Vesterbro. The walking distance from the Central Station of Copenhagen (Hovedbanegården) is about 10 minutes.

If you take bus number 26 or 6A and get off at Vesterbros Torv, you can walk to the museum in a few minutes.
